2013 International K-12 Science Education Institute For Leadership Development and Strategic Planning

When:

Sunday, July 28 – Friday, August 2, 2013

Where:

Westin in Alexandria, Virginia

Join us and our team of hand-picked faculty members for the 2013 International K-12 Science Education Institute for Leadership Development and Strategic Planning. This summer, leadership teams representing schools, districts and regions eager to advance science education reform will gather just outside of Washington, DC. Once assembled they will spend one week in rigorous seminars and intensive planning sessions, gathering the tools they need to revitalize their science education programs at home. Teams will leave with a drafted five year strategic plan to serve as their road map moving forward.

About Us

The Smithsonian Science Education Center (formerly National Science Resources Center) was founded in 1985 to improve the K-12 teaching and learning of science for all students. The 75+ Science Education Institutes held since then guide school district leadership teams through the development of a five-year strategic plan. This plan incorporates research and best practices on implementing hands-on, inquiry-centered science programs in a systemic and sustainable way from kindergarten to twelfth grade.
